Investing in a Fairer World
The Fairtrade Chesham volunteers are delighted that Chesham Town Council has reaffirmed its support for Fairtrade, 21 years after first committing its support.
The Town Council first pledged its support to our campaign on the 7th March 2005, helping us to become the first town in Buckinghamshire to achieve Fairtrade Town status.
We have managed to continuously maintain Fairtrade Town status over the last 21 years and we will be reapplying for status once again this summer, so the Council’s renewed commitment couldn’t have come at a better time.
With the impact of the climate crisis disproportionately impacting developing world producers, ensuring Fairtrade is more important than ever. We will continue to work hard to raise awareness of Fairtrade in Chesham into the future.
