Fairtrade Status Success

Fairtrade Community logo

We’re delighted that Chesham’s status as a Fairtrade Community has been renewed.

This means that Chesham has continuously been a Fairtrade Town since 2005, when it became the first Fairtrade Town in Buckinghamshire.

The aim of our work has been to encourage Fairtrade sales in Chesham, spread the word about Fairtrade in local schools, places of worship, businesses and community organisations, and engage with local politicians. The renewal of our Fairtrade Community Status until 2026 shows our on-going commitment to this.

Every action taken on a local level adds to raising awareness of the issues of unfair trade and furthers the progress of workers’ rights, safer working conditions and fairer pay for farmers and workers globally.

Thanks to all the local businesses, organisations and residents who support Fairtrade.
